More Persuasion....

Years ago I started reading Jane Austen sequels and was really put off by the ones I read. Since then, I think they have improved. I just recently read Captain Wentworth's Diary by Amanda Grange and I found it delightful. Amanda Grange also has written Mr. Darcy's Diary and I enjoyed that too. I started Mr. Knightley's Diary, but I guess I wasn't in the mood or something, because I couldn't get into it. I will have to try that one again. Besides the Amanda Grange books, I would also recommend the Pamela Aidan series, Fitzwilliam Darcy, Gentleman. This is a trilogy. The book names are: An Assembly Such As This (my personal favorite), Duty and Desire (my least favorite- you can skip it and move to the last one),and These Three Remain.

Definitely avoid Mr.Darcy Takes A Wife. I don't even think I got three chapters into it before throwing it away in disgust. (I have a problem not finishing books, so it has to be bad for me to put it down.) It's basically a "bodice ripper" and that's about as gentle as I can be. Gro-oss. I'm glad there are some good ones out there as someone told me that all of the "sequels" are like the one I started.
